When I rename the melody track, the original track instruments name remains in the printed leadsheet. But of course this should adapt to the current track name - or am I somehow on the wrong path?

Videotrack. It remains still a vibraphone on the leadsheet even after restarting BiaB and reloading the file. In the Mixer I renamed the track from "Vibraphone" to "Bass" and loaded a Hi-Q-Midi 033 02 Bass, Acoustic, Upright N, Sforzando. But I found out: The name changes in the leadsheet when I select the MIDI instrument 44 "Double Bass" for this track additionally to the Hi-Q-MIDI-Patch. But this is of course a bit complicated, it would be better and more flexible if the track name (which is free editable) would be taken over from the mixer's track title into the leadsheet instead of the MIDI instrument name of this track.

Yes, I suspect that there's a problem. It may be related to using Sforzando which doesn't externalize the instrument name it uses at a suitable level. I'm really not sure. It's probably worth reporting.

My guess is the Lead sheet print out is picking up the original MIDI patches that were in place when the style you're using was created. Many of the styles seem to be modifications of MIDI styles.
You can verify if this assumption is correct by performing Alt + F2 to open the "Save Special" > "Save Song With Patches And Harmony" window. The window, see below, will display what MIDI patches are assigned to the original, unmodified style the style your using was created from.
Jim, "Save Special", that was definitely a good clue. Honestly, I have never used this command in all these years. In fact, I can assign MIDI instrument names to the tracks there, which are then also displayed in the leadsheet. But it might be really better if the naming of the tracks could be somehow unified all over the programm and made more flexible. You can't always find the right MIDI instrument name for the track among the MIDI instrument names.

But it might be really better if the naming of the tracks could be somehow unified all over the programm and made more flexible. You can't always find the right MIDI instrument name for the track among the MIDI instrument names.
The track naming convention not extending throughout the program has been an Band-in-a-Box issue ever since the custom track naming feature was released.
One common area that highlights the issue is entering shots and holds. If you to apply shots and holds to specific instruments you must specify the instruments by using the legacy track name abbreviations.
Change the track patch name from vibraphone to <no patch change> and no patch name, new or legacy, will show up on your lead sheet.
