hello all,
I have a BIAB 2021 audiophile version and it's a great program
however, I have many MIDI songs that I would like to complete before trying to do something with the Real styles
I have a few songs that I like but that get somewhat boring by the time you reach the 3rd chorus
I know there are plenty of options to change instruments at some point and so on
but it seems to me two very basic functions are missing:
1) transpose a given instrument in a given part of the song one or more octaves or one or more semitones in a specific direction (up or down)
2) choose a given way of playing a guitar part, for example using open chords in the verses and barres chords in the chorus
I don't want to mess with the styles nor with another program to achieve such basic arrangments tricks
thanks for your attention

Both of those can be accomplished via either the piano roll view or the editable notation view. I most use the piano roll view so in that mode I would do the following:

#1 - just grab the note(s) that you want to move and move them up or down.

#2 - If you know guitar then just pick notes that will work for the desired position. For instance and open G would be G-B-D-G-B-G and a barred G would be G-D-G-B-D-G. If you don't know guitar then just ask as there are a number of guitarist here that will help you.

yes, I know
in fact I am a guitarist but I have an injured left hand since 10 years ago
my instrument of choice was the nylon strings guitar
but now I cannot even fret a basic A chord :-(
thankfully BIAB saved my musical life
what you need to know is that editing anything long is difficult for me
this i why I prefer to change a bar setting with the right-click menu or similar solution
but I do love the guitar
in fact I was just reading a website about open tunings ;-)
I know there is a midi style "disk" with all the usual suspects

Barnard, Sorry to hear about your hand injury. That sucks when one loves the guitar.

I have one question for you. Can you hold a slide with your left hand? If so you may want to consider a slide and a nut riser and play dobro or lap steel style guitar.

Google Amazon for guitar nut riser and guitar slides. In the guitar slide page be sure to scroll down to see the dobro/lap steel slides(bars).

I say this as my friend's son was in a car accident and is almost a quadriplegic. His left hand is almost useless but he can hold onto a lap steel bar and he can move his arm. His right hand is OK. He would place his guitar on his wheel chair arm rests and play. He was playing guitar like this for a couple of years but then lost interest.

Thank you Mario
yes, I thought about many options available to me
in 2015 I bought a left handed spanish guitar and followed guitar lessons again for a few months in 2016
I think it can be done but I just don't have enough discipline for the time being
I think maybe I will buy a left handed ukulele some day
