I sent a PM to him last week. Apparently they are keeping him sedated for some reason. A friend of his mentioned it on her FB page, but I can't access that; I'm not on FB. If someone who is could go to her page and copy/paste the info here I would appreciate it.

Bob,

This is all I found on Muriel's feed. Don replied to one of her videos 5 days ago.....

Quote:
Donald Gaynor · 5d
Beautiful Muriel

Muriel Anderson · 5d
Donald Gaynor Thanks so much - as you see on the video we really appreciate the solar panel you gave us!

No other mention of Don in her feed.

That's odd. Here is Don's reply to my PM:

"They keep me sedated so I'm not on the forums much anymore, Bob.

Muriel Anderson mentions me here:"

He is in our prayers.

Bob, what I posted is what Muriel said about Don in that link you provided. Unfortunately, it was nothing to do with his health. Like Dan, I came up empty handed on the rest of Muriel's feed.

I have a pm from don on the 5th august
“Josie, Muriel Anderson is working on a nautical project and I would be happy to forward any sea shanties that you might have to share. You have about a month to participate.”
Nothing about his health. I will ask him

I've heard less from Don these days too, and was getting worried. I also have a friendship with his daughter (Kelly), and want to pass this along to anyone who cares for Don and is concerned:

Lately he’s lost more dexterity so I don’t think ones are “hearing” from him much. Please let everyone there know that Dad enjoyed everyone sharing at his “hootenanny” so much, he watches it over and over and it still brings him so much joy.

--

I'd say keep sending him messages even if he's not getting back - I'm sure he's thrilled and comforted every time he hears from his friends.

Dear friends,

It's wonderful to be remembered by those that I've grown to love and admire over these 20+ years.

I don't have the necessary permissions from the famed recording artists who zoomed in to my Hootenanny publicly but if you search YouTube you will find 5+ hours of music by guitarists Muriel Anderson; Tommy Emmanuel; Richard Smith; Joanne Cooper; Isla Grant ( singer/songwriter ) Peter Gannon; and more.

Muriel Anderson is a tiny petite lady who Chet Atkins would entice to visit on the pretense of learning a new tune then being asked to swab out his chicken coupes. lol, She was thrilled to comply.

Hello Don,

I don't frequent the forums anymore but I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you.

Here is a clip from Mark O'Connor's new album "Markology II". Hope fully it'll brighten your day a little.

Thanks, Bob.

Mark has recently renewed our friendship from the 60s, we were neighbors in Alderwood, WA (N Seattle).

He gave me several of his vinyl LPs including the one where he wins his first flat-picking contest at 12 years old.

He is a wonderful gentleman.
