You should talk with PG Music Tech support before you delete anything. IK Multimedia has a weird way of installing stuff. I can't remember now when SampleTank 2.5 came with BIAB, 2014?

Anyway, Today is a Canadian holiday but they do have holiday hours.

I agree, contact PG Music Support. I assume you still use Sampletank. If you don’t, you can blow it away and recover considerable space on drive C.

If you're only using a newer version of Band-in-a-Box (I think starting with the 2017 version) then this will use Sforzando by default instead of Sampletank. In that case, you can uninstall Sampletank (unless you're still using it for something else) and remove the Sampletank files.

In theory Sampletank should only use one of those sets of files. I don't have Sampletank here, so I can't be more specific, but there likely is a setting in Sampletank to specify where it gets the files from.

If not, the easy way would be to delete one folder (don't empty the trash), run BIAB, open a song with a MIDI Supertrack in it (or manually add a Hi-Q instrument) and see if it works - if it doesn't then restore the folder you deleted and delete the other.

I’m not certain since it was a few years ago, but I think the folder may have been too large to reside in the recycle bin.

That's a good point. The recycle bin is typically pre-set to allow only a certain percentage of your total hard drive space - for me it's around 6% or 14gb of my 237gb partition. As that particular folder is only around 1gb it should fit in the recycle bin as long as the partition is over at least 17gb and as long as the percentage isn't changed manually.

Either way, if it asks you to delete the folder permanently - don't do that! Move the folder somewhere else to test, or simply rename it.

I am a big fan of moving or renaming the folders when experimenting, deleting can be a little to risky for me! I am always worried that I will mess it up somehow! Just an irrational fear actually.
