Hello Ghostgum,

Although I haven't heard from Itsy Bitsy, or Incy Wincy, your song is very pleasant listening to!
I liked the different styles you worked with. The intro/outro melody is very nice. You could easily make a song with Airy harp style alone. But the happy sounding middle part fits very nice in it all. No difficult musical transitions, at least for the ears.

Well done,
Hans

My tune was inspired by a well known nursery-rhyme:

Incy Wincy spider climbed up the water spout
Down came the rain and washed the spider out
Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain
So Incy Wincy spider climbed up the spout again

Ahh, I know that one!
In the Netherlands it's about a little kid (Hansepanse kevertje) who did the same activities!
And 'Hansepans' is my name but with an extension.

Dear 'Ghostgum'...

What a charming and innocently enjoyable composition this is smile !!!

Reminds me of my kindergarten days when our teacher taught the classroom new songs to perform for our parents when we returned home from school.

The glockenspiel was a lovely addition to the orchestra. It has the sound of sweet dreams and magical places.

Fun tune and a couple of new words to add to my list of colloquial terms.

The nursery rhyme is well known to me. Never knew the other two words. I have a long-standing interest in idiomatic expressions.
Thanks.

Billy

Very nice interpretation (Incy Wincy would be proud). Clever mixing of styles and an entertaining listen.

Great idea and ultimate arrangement/mix.

Putting together each or those segments and then imagining it
as a single production is way above our productions heads.

The segues are excellent. Nice flow to the entire composition.

Kudos!

As a certified written English professional and family Scrabble champion, I pride myself on a reasonably extensive vocabulary. However, the word segues had me scrambling for my online dictionary. Many thanks to you for that helpful contribution to my musical education.

As far as the overall concept goes I must confess that the previous day I had been listening to Gustav Holst's 'Jupiter' from the Planets Suite. I noticed that some three minutes into a rather busy eight minute movement, the pace slowed dramatically for the hymn (almost a requiem), after which the race was on to the finish. I just got to wondering how I might reverse the process - i.e. have a faster bit in the middle.

Quite an elaborate expansion of a simple children's tune.

Big Fun!
