I usually deal with harmony in RealBand but I though I might try out the harmony feature in BiaB. I do like the result of some of the harmonies, but I wondered where the midi for the harmony was stored as I want this to be available when I bring the song into RealBand.
The harmony features uses 3 channels. It looks like these channels are selected automatically. I assume that these can be changed but not sure why. Is it the harmony type that selects them?
Thanks Jim, that is what I'm looking for. But I'm missing something though. Since the harmony in my case is meant to be on channels 11 to 14 then I was expecting to see these channels containing the harmonised midi from my melody?
I can do this easily in RealBand, but I thouught that I might be able to do in prior to that stage.
Looking through the 2022 user manual I believe the harmony function has two modes of operation. One is real time during playback and the second is the harmony parts are written to either the Melody or Soloist track.
Thanks again Jim. I saw that the harmony was written to the Melody track, but no midi appears on any other channel other than channel 1. I don't think it is going to be helpful if I can't see the midi. Basically I wanted to experiment with some counterpoint in my harmony by manipulating harmony lines on the other channel. I think I will be able to do this in RealBand (or failing that, in Ableton) but I think RB will let me do waht I want.
