hello What i want to do is put individual midi tracks onto individual utility tracks with the correct patches.
methods used and outcome... 1.. File/open open midi file(tried a lot of midi with same outcome.) This opens midi file to the melody track and plays correct patches.
2.. File/open special/open midi file.. This opens midi file to melody track and plays correct patches.
3.. File/import/import chords from midi file/open entire midi to melody track. This opens the midi to the melody track and plays correct patches.
4.. Drag drop midi file into bb main window. This brings the option up of where to put midi tracks(image1) accept defaults because everything looks ok. this loads the midi onto individual utility tracks but all tracks play the same patch.
Then i go into plugins on the mixer(image 2)and all midi channels on all utility tracks are set to none. I then have to force all the separate utility tracks to their respective midi channel. This happens to every midi file i try and have to rechannel everytime i use this method.
I have tried every combination of drivers and synths etc. running bb2022 912 ran clean up,returned to factory settings etc,ive been trying for two weeks now and still no luck. This method worked on the 845 build of bb 2021. Everything is set as it was on the bb 2021 build 845.
running as admin Cant understand why bb recognises the correct channels when sent to melody track but doesnt when sent to utility tracks.
ps not looking for work around just want to know if im doing something not right.
Informed support and Simon says(lol) its working ok at his end. ive added midi file but this happens to every midi file.
Could anyone tell me if they get the same issue and if so what advice could they give me,rather than having to rechannel midi everytime i load midi. Thanks so much for listening(if you got this far) Paul.

This is a bad time to be trying to figure out Midi in BIAB (unfortunately, as so many of us are trying to do). So many bugs combined in with so many new features. Here's hoping the fixes will keep on coming.
sorry, I meant to type ( anyone else ) I do feel your pain...

You are so right... normally I do most everything MIDI in my DAW... feels like I'm swimming against a riptide.
I have the same issues. One funny bug yesterday was when I added a regular RT guitar track on a Utility track and the track played both RT Audio and MIDI (on Channel 1)...
Have you noticed any difference using the TTS-1 DXI synth versus an external MIDI synth?
I've had similar issues, trying to use MIDI's on the Utility Tracks. So, I've given up for now, trying to import MIDI file's to individual Utility Tracks.
Out of desperation, I've resorted to the use of a second instance of the TTS-1 synthesizer on the Melody Track, while running the first instance as the default synthesizer. The TTS-1 synthesizer's mixer, recognizes the channels and instruments after you hit "play" the first time. It also allows individual channel volume adjustments in it's Mixer. The BIAB Mixer Fader for the Melody Track, is usable as well.
This method doesn't allow the inserting of effects plug-ins for the individual channels, or to allow control of the varying individual channel levels throughout the song. I does however, give you access, to individual: Chorus, Reverb, Pan and other settings for decay, reverb, mods and more.
Other issues that I have encountered with MIDI's on Utility Tracks include... Notation View doesn't appear to work on the Utility Tracks. It reverts to the Melody Track when a Utility track is selected, and you hit "#". Therefore you can't delete Volume events or modify/delete embedded Program Changes, (to allow changing instruments without it popping back to the original). Piano Roll doesn't appear to show events either on MIDI utility tracks.
Also I've found that you can't select a GM2 Instrument from the Right Click menu, on the Utility Tracks, which does work on the original tracks.
