I changed my vst/dxi synths to cakewalk tts and it sounded like garbage so then I changed it back to the default vst/dxi and it keeps crashing now. Sometimes I get this error:
Access violation at address 100025a9 in module 'rdas1061.dll'. read of address 00000108 at : 100025a9.
I reboot my computer then biab starts. I hit the play button, hear no sound but my harddrive loading up or unloading for a minute then it crashes.
I remember this happen to me previously and decided to reinstall and thats when i found that my bb harddrive was faulty.
Is there a way to change back to default setting without opening bb? something like a config file?
Why does it keep crashing everytime I change the soft synths?

Look for a file in the bb folder named interface.bbw
Delete that.
What o/s are you using?

If BIAB starts when you reboot your computer. I'd suggest rebooting and then Opt. >> Return to Factory Settings (the bottom option). What audio driver are you using? (MME, ASIO (soundcard), ASIO4ALL, etc.)

Im using XP with asio drivers.
I uninstalled/reinstalling now. I download the whole hd onto my c so it takes a while. Im at work right now so when I get home I hope the fresh install will work.
The default midi option is ms wavetable thing and it doesnt sound bad, and I wouldnt know if anything is better but I had to experiment having new drivers from other programs. What do most use?
I swear when I get home I'm never going to touch the driver options again tho! I just want biab to work and sound as good as I can make it. But everytime I tinker, its a stinker. lol
Cheers

Hey dfaris,
The whole midi/driver/ASIO/MME/VSTi section of windows just SUCKS!! For years I've been struggling to get my keyboards and EWI to work with BIAB. It wasn't until Windows 7 that I could actually make everything work the way it should. Now I'm trying to find out why win 7 32 bit idles at 750mb!!!!!!
Why can't windows developers take a good look at the Mac OS? Core midi/Core audio WORKS! There is no hair pulling, tug of war with your soundcard/latency and driver games you have to go thru!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel your pain!

Open the VST/DirectX window by clicking the [DXi Synth] button in the main Band-in-a-Box toolbar. What are the exact names of the plugins you currently have selected in each of the 4 slots, in both the Synth Track and Audio Track tabs?

Hi Andrew
In the synth track I have only 1 Cakewalk tts-1. It works fine.
In the audio track I have only 1 PG PeakLimit.
I have it working now. I think my problem is with the audio drivers, which I making a seperate post for.
