OP ChicagoBob Apprentice Joined: Sep 2014 Posts: 252 Chicago and Twin Cities	Swingin' on a Chandelier I started out with the BIAB InHuman.sty which got me a good foundation with the 528 acoustic guitar and them i added a piano which i played while changing some of the instruments including the 1036 Bass and the 2690 Guitar. This is a song that i collaborated on with a new member Peter B. who added the lyrics and vocal demo. Before we put more time/money into the song we are looking for feedback in general and in particular to the genre that comes to your minds that would best fit the lyrics below vs1a Look at us, sittin’ pretty Like we got the keys to the city Oh , now! Oh, now! ch1 We’re a couple of kids from Nowhere They thought we’d just disappear We’re thumbin’ our noses at the nonbelievers Oh, now! Oh, now! And we’re swingin’ on a chandelier vs2a There’s was never no relyin’ on luck I counted on you and you counted on me Now we’re goin’. Now we’re growin’. Oh vs2b Time to chill out and put our feet up Forget the time’s you and me were beat up Oh, they’ll never know. PROJECT M Expert Joined: Oct 2021 Posts: 1,482 Versmold - GERMANY	Hello Bob this will be a great song Of course it has to be a rock ballad The melody gives a lot for it But you have to play at least the guitar solo yourself if it is to be really very good. the vocals should develop with the song and get stronger and stronger really great I am really excited about this song great work Bob As an example I recommend the song EVERYWHERE by SUNSTORM. I have one concern that others may disagree with: there is already a mega-iconic song called Chandelier with billions of hits on youtube. I would pick a different lyric. Your melody is great, keep it. But I would lose the chandelier. Not that you would or could be sued, but Sia's song is already so implanted in almost everyone's mind. Again, let's hear what others have to say, I could be totally wrong. Still a great job with everything else on this project. I really liked the vocal, and pretty much the whole thing. Happy holidays! To me, this sounds like a vocal + strummed guitar song as the main backbone. That you chose not to go that direction was confusing, because I kept waiting for it to appear. However, since I probably at least a couple of decades out of date on pop music, I'd take any feedback from me with a huge grain of salt. I also love the minimal approach to the backing tracks. The piano really carries until the full band kicks in. I enjoyed this a lot. The lyric takes me back a lot of years to my youth. That was in the late 40s and early 60s. Yeo, I'm an old fart, although I don't feel like one. I'll be 75 soon but don't feel much different than I did when I was 45. Ya did good ... really good! The style of the solo & it's tone are a tad too cliche for me. The bones are good, I'd like to read the lyrics to get further into the thing. It does sound like a basically mono song with a couple of outliers. I think it'll be good...the draft vocals are not too shabby either.
