Hi there. I recently loaded a style over some of my chords and noticed that there were strings included. I then soloed the strings and loved just having a string "pad" with which to practice arpeggios on guitar.
This made me wonder, can one invoke a list of RealTrack instruments and simply pick instruments to play over one's chords and either play just one instrument or then maybe add another? My thought is to avoid the style picker and loading a style and then soloing the desired instrument.
PG chat mentioned loading a "blank" style and then somehow picking an instrument from a list, but they could not tell me how to do it.
Can you guide me, if this technique is possible?
EDIT: I did just now find the RealTrack picker! Totally cool. Now just how to use it for the above goal?

Since you have BIAB 2022, you can copy many tracks out to Utility Tracks and do audio editing. Then at appropriate measures, in the legacy tracks, press F5 and Mute instruments as needed. Where you want them to resume, F5 and Return to Normal.
BIAB 2026 Win Audiophile. Software: Fender Studio One 8, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Fender Quantom HD8 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Yes... Realtrack picker (RTP) is the way to go.
1) Simply select which track you want to put a RT instrument on.
(This is in the upper left corner of RTP.
2) Find the Realtracks you want and click the mouse cursor on it.
(Using the filter at the bottom of RTP will help you isolate RTs. Just type a word a two (or more) in the filter and then select "Update".)
3) Click on the RT you want.
4) Now click either (a) Generate and then click Close or (b) click Close and then generate when you go back to BIAB.
When back in BIAB, just solo the track you want to hear.
Regards, Noel

Oh thanks for that Matt, but I literally want to build something from scratch. For instance, I write a few simple chords that I am going to loop (not really writing a song). Then I want to load just one RealTrack instrument without loading a full style. It will be like a simple drone with the one instrument. Just a practice loop. Can one Realtrack instrument be invoked to play over my chords without a style being used?

Noel I didn't see your answer. Will fuss with that a bit to see what you mean.
What is this business PG chat talked about of loading a Blank style?
Perhaps I could build my own blank style and then add one instrument from the RealTracks picker.
I do see that I have the option of Erasing a loaded track in a style but this made me nervous. Does it mean that it is just removing it from this particular loaded style and NOT erasing it from the hard drive or from future invocations of the style?

Solutions:
Simon at PG jumped in for some more help.
The reason I could not see _BLANK as a style option is that I had my Style picker set to display RTs only. Once I cleared this restriction so that all RT, RM and M styles were shown, the _BLANK options showed up.
He also noted in the Style Picker that I could build something like this from scratch and save it a a custom style for quick reloading.
He also suggested actually making a SONG like this and saving it as a song for my purposes so that I would not have to mess with styles in the future.
He also reassured me that ERASING anything in the mixer just made changes for that song and did not change anything in BIAB (well that sure makes sense!)
Thanks everyone!

Search for Blank in Style Picker... there are several different "utility styles" you can load up.

I don’t know that I’ve ever used a PG Music style as-is for a song I composed. I change individual tracks to have what I think should be there. Doing this is so easy that I do not even take the time to save the new configuration as a user style, although I could.

Filter for Utility under Category and you'll find there are many single instrument styles. Most are piano but some are guitar.
