I posted this as a question and didn't get any responses in the Windows forum, so I guess it needs to be an enhancement/wish list. I'm finding a lot of use for MIDI and MIDISupertracks lately, but have to jump through some hoops to get a new arrangement to audition.

RealTracks have a lot of options for generating - whole track, sections of track thru Multiriff, etc. I'm not seeing a way to regenerate a MIDI track or SuperTrack except by freezing all other tracks and choosing to Regenerate the whole song (F4). The "Track Actions" menu continues to show the "Multiriff" option even when a track is MIDI/Supertrack, but when selected it tells you to change to using a RealTrack. It would be great to have a Multiriff type workflow for sections of a song, but I'd in the short term be happy with just a way to regenerate the whole track.

You can chose an alternate for a MIDI by picking a "MIDI from another style" for the track you want to change.

I don't want to change them. Much like regenerating a RealTrack gives a different set of licks/patterns, so do MIDI from styles and MIDISupertracks. A single RealTrack can be regenerated at will - I'd just like the same capability for MIDI.

You're not wrong here. The standard RealDrum track has that same shortcoming too, I might add.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!
