I decided to get better midi sounds than CWT for my old laptop, happily running Bb2022-918 so tried to get Bandlab for the TTS-1. No dice - only supports down to Win8 now and stops the DL. Can anyone offer an EASY TO INSTALL midi sounds that works with Win7? Bests Ian

shame about that but a reasonable change would be to use the synthfont64 you got free with BIAB and load a soundfont. i have timbres of heaven and omega. just tried them side by side with an old midi track i have and the timbres of heaven comes close to the TTS1 and so does omega but each has slighly different sounds for the instruments. for example the rhodes piano on timbres of heaven is virtually the same as the TTS1 but the omega patch is more upfront and to me a little more like a rhodes in real life.
all free and reasonably easy to use. try it and if you get stuck post again in the forum.

Don't know what changed; I used TTS-1 from BandLab on Win7 for a long time. Is your Win7 32-bit or 64-bit. Cakewalk by BandLab is strictly 64-bit.
Or possibly the issue is that Win7 is end-of-life and they just don't want to support it.

Officially Cakewalk stopped supporting Windows 7 when Microsoft support for Windows 7 ended. Microsoft continues to support Windows 8 and 8.1 and Windows 10 so Cakewalk does support all of those. However as Microsoft ends support, so will Cakewalk. Unofficially, Cakewalk works with Windows 7 just fine. The Cakewalk forum has numerous users that use the DAW on Windows 7 computers. Ian, There are two ways to install Cakewalk, using the Bandlab Assistant application or using an installer downloaded direct from the web. If you tried using the Bandlab Assistant and it didn't work, try the +++ CAKEWALK WEB INSTALLER +++.

However, your link worked and it DLd fine with just a pop up note saying Win7 isn't supported and might not work. It does! Only Melodyne took its bat and ball home and refused to install. No issue there. Many thanks for your help. Bests Ian
