BIAB 2022 with 918 patch: Has anyone else experienced error message 9996 at startup and refuses to start BIAB, if so how did you correct it?

Danny,
The error message is reporting everything is not using the same audio settings. Verify the audio sample rate and bit depth is the same in the Windows Audio Control Center and the Band-in-a-Box audio settings. Also don't forget about your audio interface.
16 bit at 44.1K sample rate is what Band-in-a-Box prefers. It's common for Windows to reset the Windows audio settings to 24 bit at 48K after a Windows update.

This is a WASAPI error. I think this is a an invalid audio device error, which might have been caused by an audio interface getting unplugged. The code that Jim referred to (9997) is different and is an informational message about the input and output sample rates not matching. This is fairly common and is of no concern unless you will be recording audio. In that case, you should go into the Windows control panel - Sound Settings, and adjust the sample rate settings.
Also FYI you can view the log of those messages by going to Help | utilities | display log...
