Hi all,

instead of making music I write you this revelation.

My case:

New song only on chord in the sheet.
I want to play along with the chord practicing improvisation of a chord.
The THRU channel is to loud so I lower the volume significantly.
Then I pick another chord and re-generate the current style (any it does not matter what style)
The loudness is ear deafening high. The current volume poistion of the mixer is disregarded!

This defaulting back to an "initial" volume happens also if I change the style! And changing the style has also the below mentioned gimmick.

The audio is routed over ASIO Presonus IO Station 24C
I attach a screenshot.

Also 2nd discovered issue. If I switch the style in this 1 chord new song (default when Biab opens song). Only chord changed to C7 from C, when I switch the style the THRU channel is not produceing any instrument sound. Also not if I change it via right click on the mixer track of THRU channel and pick another midi instrument.
Remedy is only to go into the audio dialog and reapeat picking the ASIO driver right thru the last dialog box. Then sound is back again. :-(
Annoying task of having to go through this hazzle every style change.

Cheers
Stefan

Hi all,

I found out, that I contributed to the demeanour of Biab with the attached channel settings also adding velocity as the thru channels volume was to low before. Yet one thing I think should be reconsidered in the behaviour - and please dispute if anyone has a different opinion about the "polite" handling of the usage.

No matter what settings have been made for a reason with the channels default velocity and also added velocity to the thru channel. Once it was change in a Biab session, this should be kept - otherwise I have to reset the volume slider always new again. Only because of the preference setting is taken with each loading of a new song again.

I see the THRU channels existence important for me to play along with an instrument of my choosing to several songs (until I fatigue) while having the instrument set and volume set once and not for each song again from the beginning. Or not?

You could probably say "don´t mess with those parameter". But I had issues getting a decent amount of volume onto the THRU channel and the trackwise handling of lowering all others while thru is high volume had some other glitches. This was why I reverted to those settings in the preferences to start with....

Hmmm.....

Cheers
Stefan
