So today, when I click on a particular forum discussion area (which is highlighted yellow to indicate that there are unread messages), as soon as that forum discussion area displays, all the messages in the list shows having been read (the yellow highlight turns white), so I can't see what I have and haven't read.

I rarely pay attention to that. Although I did ask about this many years ago, coming from the old Cakewalk forum where, it was easy to see what post you had read, and if someone else had posted something new since you were there last....
I had given up on waiting for this forum to adopt something like that so I stopped looking and have relied mainly on my memory to determine where I have visited before..... and that's not always a very accurate way of doing it.
I think that the little GREEN DOT signifies that I have posted in the thread. Some of the folders are yellow..... and some are white..... and in some of the topics, they're ALL white and I know I haven't even peeked into some of the threads.... hmmmmmm....
Also.... "new" posts are BOLD and the folder is yellow..... But when I peek in the folder turns white and the BOLD goes to normal. Not exactly sure what that's supposed to let me know. Further down they are all white folders and regular font...... I'm guessing that means there's been activity in that thread since my last visit. And a visit from me is indicated by it being white when I leave. THe green dot remains to let me know I posted there.
OK I think I get it.
The one thing I would still like to see is some sort of indication even when the thread is normal font, white folder, and down the list a bit, and without a green dot to tell me I posted in it..... some sort of indicator that I have visited the post previously. Something as simple as having the dot turn yellow for a visit without a comment, and green for a visit with a comment. That would make searching the forums so much easier.

You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.com Add nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Why not just go to: My Stuff/Posts? It shows every thread you've posted in.

FWIW, I sometimes see the "post-it" notes for unread posts get out of step. I've tried logging out and logging in again, and thet has so far sorted it.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful. AVL:MXE Linux; Windows 11 BIAB2025 Audiophile, a bunch of other software. Kawai MP6, Ui24R, Focusrite Saffire Pro40 and Scarletts .
FWIW using the Back button will not refresh for the thread you were just in. The list needs to refresh with a fresh page load, whereas the Back button uses the cache. Just a thought
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!
