I'm trying to use microchords for the first time to fix a chord timing issue in an arrangement of a classic pRock pop song I'm working on.
ALL TRACKS ARE REAL TRACKS iif that makes a difference.
Its in F at 60 bpm and the Verse ends with a bar of F before going into the Chorus of Gm7 etc. BUT that 4 beat bar of F is actually 3 beats F and then last beat is two chords - F,F# to create a Push for the ascending F# (precursor to the Gm7). Pretty standard Rock guitar phrasing F//F,^F# (in one bar) to the Gm7.
I cannot work out how to input F,^F# in that one beat bar. Microchords? How? https://app.box.com/s/p7azr3hknjvjd2pjzi22vppxnpp67bb4 You can clearly hear the OD guitar make the transition from the F through F,F# to the Gm7 All help appreciated. Bests Ian

Hi Ian, I'm no expert on micro-chords, and I'm not sure what you have entered, but do either of these two ideas work for you? This is what I tried:

I tried both, the first one gave a little more emphasis to the 'push', and I'm not sure if that's what Ian is looking for. But they both seemed to produce a result that sounded like what I imagine he's looking for. Especially with a tempo of 60, there's certainly time to 'hear' the change occurring.

Oh, another thing that might be helpful: Not sure if you are doing it this way, but instead of typing in the micro-chords directly into the chord cells using the correct syntax, press keyboard letter M followed by <Enter> to bring up the micro-chords dialog.

Hi Matt and Trev thank you so much for the answers. RESOLVED!!!! I dont know about in Jazz or Brazilian etc etc but in Pop music that kind of hard Push (why is it a PUSH? To me its a PULL forward? lol) is quite common. The second link in your reply showed the micro-chords layout you used, I expect this was what you wanted to show.
(And yes, the 'Push' is an unusual term but one I've just learned to understand)
I had expected that you wanted this as early as possibly to 'emphasise it' and that's why I thought the second semi-quaver of the last beat was going to deliver this best.
