My last posted song, "I've Got The Joy", was terrible. I wish I would have listened closer before I posted it, but a great lesson learned. Thanks for the honest replies. I could just let my mother listen to my songs if I wanted to hear how great I am. Eventually I'll try to re-work it, but it may be a while before I can get to it, so I posted this one as a replacement. Hopefully it will be better. It's a song about my wife and most of the words were written somewhere between sleep and consciousness. Before getting out of bed one morning I was thinking about her and how closely she matches Proverbs 31. Furthermore, I think there's a lot of folks who believe church-goers don't have this kind of passion about each other (maybe they've never read Song Of Solomon). Anyway, that's not the way it is for me. Brad Proverbs 31 Beauty She’s my Proverbs 31 beauty. She’s my bible reading, faith healing, devil chasing cutie. Got the Devil on the run and me running after her. No I never had more fun just holding hands in church, ‘cause she’s my Proverbs 31 beauty. And when you find that kind of wife, well you find a good thing, and I’m a lucky guy ‘cause she wears my ring. She always turns my head when she walks into the room. Sometimes she turns me on just sitting in her pew, ‘cause she’s my Proverbs 31 beauty. She’s up every morning before the daylight. Works the whole day through and on into the night. And when she looks at me it’s quite a sight to see ‘cause my eyes bug out and she knocks me off my feet. She’s a woman of faith, strength, honor and prayer, with long tan legs and soft brown hair. She’s the picture perfect wife and she does something to me, she’s my Proverbs, my Proverbs 31 beauty. Well many have done well, but she exceeds them all. And she’s always right there when she hears the Lord call. She’s got a heart of kindness, worth more than gold or rubies, And a set of deep brown eyes with a stare that goes right through me ‘cause she’s my Proverbs 31 beauty. And I love to watch that woman just walking down the street. Man, you know I’m glad that the Lord gave her to me. Thou shalt now steal, but what am I supposed to do? ‘Cause when I get her home I’m gonna steal a kiss or two, ‘cause she’s my Proverbs 31 beauty. Oh, she’s up every morning before the daylight. Once I got it I took some of the lead guitar work off and put on some steel instead. I'm kind of a sucker for pedal steel guitar. It's one of the instruments my dad plays, and this one reminded me of some of the type of playing he did as I was growing up. Cool song... Great playing and singing.
At the risk of being overly critical, the mix needs work.
It's very mid-rangy... I can't hear the bass or the kick.
The overall drum kit needs to come up a bit too...
Just my opinion, whatever that's worth.

Man, you can really spit out those lyrics! It reminds me a lot of Beach Boy song, only you're singing about your wife instead of your car.  As bloc-head said, the mix could use some balancing of the instruments. I'll suggest something I rarely do myself (but I really should!): compare your mix to a similar track to see if your balance is where a pro might put things. BTW, nice finger drumming! Anyway, fun listen.
