Thank you so much for listening, and for any and all comments. https://audiomack.com/jamesdelsono/song/one-more-danceONE MORE DANCE I know you're never coming back to me I know that you're finally gone; I know it's only you I lack, you see, And yet, I've never been so alone. I check my email inbox every single day I look to see if you just wrote; My hope is just a waste in every single way, You know, I've never been so broke. So I'm moving on ... There's no-one to talk to on the telephone And I'm moving on ... It's time to invite another in this lonely home.My friends tell me that you've been thinking of me They say you're wondering whether to say "sorry" ... If you came back, how would I react? And yet I wander around, like a forgotten child, And you're the reason why each of my loves have failed, They say hope dies last ... But, one day, die, it must ... So I'm moving on ... There's no-one to talk to on the telephone And I'm moving on ... It's time to invite another in this lonely home. And yet, if you knocked again upon my door, I'd cry and forget everything that went before; With open arms, I'd hug you once more. For you're the only one I really ever loved; The only one that I have ever really hugged, But you still ain't here, Your presence ain't real ... So I'm moving on ... There's no-one to talk to on the telephone And I'm moving on ... It's time to invite another in this lonely home.Just not today; today, there's just one last chance For you and me to have one more dance. Really like the writing here. Especially, "They say hope dies last, but, one day, die, it must" and "Just not today; today, there's just one last chance for you and me to have one more dance." The music is good too. The vocal was a bit loud in some areas, but I liked the way it was presented - if that makes sense.

James,
A lot of sad in that write. (You did not convince me that you were moving on).
BAND sounds good. The vocal has a lot of emotion....(it's a bit boom-y/bass-y)...

Brad, floyd and bloc-head: thank you so much for your kind words!
floyd: yes, that was the point - that the singer didn't really move on, at least not yet, despite his protestations :-)
I must say, though, that I'm not yet very convinced about this song. I released it too quickly, I think. I was listening to some George Michael songs, and wrote this one straight afterwards ... not a good idea :-) . But I'll hear it again, with a fresh head, and see what I think. Thanks, though, for all of your kind comments!

"A lot of sad in that write" floyd well summed it up.
One little spot of hope at the end. And that is assuredly better than none.
Good band to accompany the sadness also.
Well done!

Very original song. We like the way you do this, spoken word! Sad song though, but beautiful.

James,
This is a very poignant write . . . as others have noted, the singer has clearly not moved on, despite what he ways. In a way, similar to John Waite's "Missing You"--setting up a conflict between what the singer says, and what he's really feeling. You do this well here. Nicely done!
All my best,
Deej

Good write! Good mix and backing.
It sounds a bit like a letter, a bit formal. So the use of "ain't sort of stuck out because it didn't match the rest of the language.
Nicely done!

No one does it better, James. I like what David Cuny said. Yes, it is like a letter, a letter of love, although not actually a love letter. You have a real gift for making this type of magic, James. Such a well written piece.

Janice and Bud: thanks. I'm not sure that it's really hope at the end that the singer has, more like deluding himself that there is still hope, delaying his "moving on" for one more day in the deluded idea that there is, after all, some hope. But who knows! I'm glad you enjoyed the song - thanks so much for your listen and your kind comments!
Rob and Anne-Marie: thank you!
Deej: thank you for the John Waite song. I loved it. I'm glad you enjoyed my song, too ... yes, the singer has definitely not moved on, is trying to move on, but - as we may know - it doesn't work quite like that. Thanks so much, your comments are always very much valued.
David Cuny: I know what you mean about the "ain't", but I could get nothing else to scan, haha. Thanks for listening and kind comments! :-)
Marty: wow. Such kind, kind and beautiful comments. Thank you. I really don't know how to reply to something as nice as that, beyond saying that I really appreciate your wonderful words.
I don't say this often enough, but, again, thank you PGMusic ... the secret "ace up the sleeve" in my creativity workshop :-) . What would I do without BIAB? Who knows, but it would certainly not be writing songs. God bless you all.

Super backing band
Outstanding lyrics

As always, your lyric writing is like fine poetry! The band sounds great. Vocals are a bit muddy...just a bit of EQ will clean that up.
I'm feeling sad now......mission accomplished!
Well done.
