Die Anleitung für BIAB ist ziemlich umfangreich. Ich habe mich gefragt, ob es eine "Kurzanleitung" ähnlich wie "Getting started"-Anleitungen mit den wichtigsten Funktionen und Übersicht über das Programm auf deutsch gibt. Manchmal bieten ja auch Musik-Magazine so etwas an; dort habe ich aber auch nichts gefunden.
Wenn es gut geschrieben ist, fänd ich auch eine englische Variante als Kurzanleitung okay; da wüsste ich aber auch nichts...

Hallo, Mr. Wind.
die Dokumentation des Programms ist tatsächlich erschlagend, das Handbuch (bzw. dessen PDF) ist mit dem Programm morphisch über die Jahrzehnte gewachsen und hätte eine grundsätzliche Überarbeitung dringend nötig. Es beschreibt zwar detailliert die Funktionen und Programmerweiterungen, aber ein einfaches How-To-Do für typische Standardaufgaben fehlt. Leider gibt es keinerlei Sekundärliteratur zum Programm (auch nicht in anderen Sprachen). Ich habe darüber mal mit Peter Gannon gesprochen, es bleibt letztlich unlukrativ. Der Aufwand, ein solches Buch zu schreiben, ist groß im Verhältnis zur Zahl potentieller Leser/Käufer. Geld für gedruckte Bücher ausgeben, wollen viele auch nicht mehr, PDFs wiederum lassen sich zu einfach kopieren.
Einen ersten Einstieg bietet das Kapitel 2 des Handbuchs – damit kommt man zumindest für die ersten Schritte klar. Ansonsten gibt es eine Reihe vor allem englischsprachiger Videos hier auf der Webseite, einige deutsche Videos von Forumsmitglied Simplysax finden sich auch bei Youtube (siehe Link oben im letzten der Admin-Posts). Im übrigen hat sich das Forum hier als hervorragende Informationsquelle bewährt. Hast du Fragen, stelle sie hier oder im englischen Forumsbereich – es ist relativ sicher, dass du schnell und zügig hilfreiche und wohlgesonnene Antworten bekommst.

Danke für die Info. Ich hatte schon was "befürchtet", dass es solch eine Kurz-Anleitung nicht gibt. Aber immerhin gibt es ein deutsches Handbuch - einige der Videos von Simplysax habe ich mir auch schon angesehen.

Du kennst Dich sehr gut aus, deswegen eine Frage an Dich-
Habe BIB audiophile 2015. Wenn ich mir nun die neueste kleinste Version BIP 2022 zulege, ist es dann möglich einige Styles von audiophile 2015 in 2022 zu importieren? Oder würde das nicht funktionieren?

Hallo Gerry,
die audiophile Version unterscheidet sich – soweit ich weiß – nur durch die Audiodaten der Realtracks – bei der Standardversion sind es WMA-komprimierte Daten, bei der audiophilen Version liegen zusätzlich verlustfreie unkomprimierte HiRes-WAV-Dateien in den Ordnern. Band in a Box schaut zuerst, ob WAV-Dateien da sind und nutzt dann diese.
Die Styles sind identisch, du kannst also deine alten Style-Dateien weiterverwenden, soweit du dann jeweils auch die passenden Realtracks (WAV oder WMA) aus der alten audiophilen Version beibehältst.
Ich habe allerdings selbst nie eine audiophile Version besessen, deshalb nur unter Vorbehalt.

Danke, ich möchte ja nur die kleinste BIB 2022 (Windows)deswegen wegen dem VST plugin. Aber meine alten Styles von 2015 zusätzlich nützen können.

dann empfehle ich dir, das Upgrade auf BiaB 2022 Pro zu ordern (auch bei m3c.de in Berlin gibt es noch das günstige Angebot von 75 Euro für das deutsche Upgrade). Falls es wider Erwarten Probleme gibt, kannst du das (ich denke m3c macht das auch so wie PGMusic direkt) innerhalb 30 Tagen zurückgeben.

Soll ich das Upgrade 2022 direkt über Audiophile 2015 (eigene USB Festplatte so gekauft) darüber installieren? Hoffe da geht dann nichts schief?

Das sollte funktionieren, ich habe es nie anders gemacht, allerdings habe ich das Programm nie von der originalen HD laufen lassen, sondern immer auf den Rechner installiert, das heißt, auf ein lokale Platte. Aber das macht im Prinzip keinen Unterschied. BiaB läuft von jedem Laufwerk aus gleich.
