I notice on the loops select menu, there is a button for "get more" that takes you to a web listing of free loops.

Are you suggesting we go there and just and free loops to a folder???

It looks like there are files and notepads that go with the BIAB loops. Is there a process to create a "user" loop like there is a "user track"?

Also, I see there is a loops folder from this menu.

If you add more loops (like free bandlab loops) to this folder, are you able to select them in BIAB "as is" or are there other steps involved.

Thanks.

Hmmmmmm.......

Making some progress. smile

Will I be able to chose loops if they are on another hard drive, not the bb Loops folder?

My audiophile drive will fill up fast if I copy all my loops libraries there....

This is a problem I realized years ago. I had many disks containing ACIDized loops long before BIAB and Realband added loop capability. It would have been impractical to copy all the loops to the BIAB loops folder.

I set up a symbolic link for my disk drive inside the BIAB loops folder. When a disk is inserted in the drive, BIAB sees the loops as part of its loops folder.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

Interesting. How did you do this? I do not know what a "symbolic link" is. Are you talking about a shortcut?

I wish PG would reply with a known method to have several folders available for these loops. I am becoming more interested in loops but I have 5. Terabyte left on my audiophile drive. One or two loop collections will wipe that out.

smile

Here is a link to a YouTube video showing how to set up a symlink:

I had no idea Windows now supported symbolic links. MS seems remarkably coy about them.
I've been using them for decades in Unix/Linux and believed Windows still didn't have them!
I shall explore further.

Nice symbolic links video. Thanks to CXP for sharing the link and for informing us about this Windows feature. However I found the examples hard to see.

+++ HERE +++ is a video that provides more detail about symbolic links in Windows 10 and some easy to see examples.

David, are you aware Band-in-a-Box does not recognize Acidized loops as loops unless they are inside the loops folder.
