Ive got a sequence where in a bar i need just to change the Bass root in the second half of it. Easy I know but read on- - Sequence is C,Am,F, F/E,G7. In that third bar I can easily change the bass by just typing F/E BUT it replays the chord as well and sounds clunkey.I want iust the Bass to change,play an E there,and everything else play through. Oh,I'm using RTs. Is that possible Wendy

Wendy, Your description is not quite clear, because in your case the F/E is not in the third bar, but in the fourth. If the slash bass E is supposed to be on the third beat of the third bar, this works quite well here: C| Am| F.. F/E.bd| G7| That is, on beat one of the third measure you put a "shot" (or a "hold" or leave it normal) and on beat three you put a rest for all instruments except bass and drums. Does that work for you?

1) Firstly off, enter the chords C | Am | F | G7 That is, the F/E is not yet present in the 3rd bar.
2) Now generate the song.
3) Once the song is fully generated, freeze all the tracks except the Bass. To test that this has happened, double click your mouse on about the 4th last bar. If the song doesn't play, it hasn't yet generated to this point so just wait a bit.
4) Modify the chord progression to C | Am | F,F/E|G7
5) Regenerate the song. This time the frozen tracks will not produce new material. The unfrozen Bass track, though, will regenerate and the E will be added.
TWO (this is the easier way)
1) Go into song settings.
2) Activate the option "Ignore slash root or slash chords except bass".
Hi Brille, no it didn't. You have the bars shown correctly but i want that F to flow through the bar, only the Bass changing to E in the second part of it. Noel,I like the first idea best.If I invoke the second idea I might lose any nuances the other RTs might have (thinking vocal oohs and aahs maybe). Cos I'm not Mrs Patience lol I created a v2 of my SGU, put in all my lovely Bass roots that I wanted and just froze and exported that track only to DAW. Messy but it worked.However,your unfreeze/freeze workround also worked when I just tried it.I'll remember in future. Live and learn.Thanks Wendy
