Hi,
I have a MIDI sequence, not produced by me, that I'm working on. The time signature is 12/4. Currently using PT that came with BIAB 2008.5 I also just received the 2010 upgrades for BIAB and PT but I'm still editing with the older version.
I would like to be able to edit in the notation window but, of course, it will only display blank in the notation window as this is not a "supported" time sig.
Is there any kind of work around for this issue? I did a quick search but didn't turn up anything, so if I have missed it somewhere in the forums or FAQ please point me to the appropriate place.
In this specific case I'm tweaking lyrics, so I can do it by manually editing the events list, but that is painful. So I was wondering if there is some other approach that could be used, like changing the time sig or some similar hack?
Thanks, Burt

Have you tried playing with time sig/tempo variables?
I'm guessing the best bet would be to play it from one sequencer into another .. and record into different time sig
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

Thanks,
I haven't tried playing with the time sig/tempos yet. So I'll try that first to see what happens. If that doesn't work then I'll try your other suggestion playing from one sequencer and recording on another. Hadn't thought to try that.

Burt,
I just loaded opened (not imported) a MIDI of the Washington Post March (6/8). It read into RB as 3/4. I was surprised because the notes and beats aligned correctly but across two bars instead of one bar (I could view notation). If you are looking to simply edit the notes and make changes and additions, it would be possible to do this in Piano Roll mode. I often use this and find it very user-friendly once you get the hang of it.
Regards, Noel

Try the Score Editable Display, the next option to the standard Editable Display. This always shows a form of Notation which does allow editing and is useful for changing velocities and note lengths by dragging the appropriate lines.
