Hi;
I am hooking up (finally) my Hammond SK2 keyboard to the computer and wanting to use it as a controller, record a midi part, and then have RealBand play it back directly to the SK2 so i can hear its built in sounds. While at the same time also hearing the sound as a generic patch on the computer audio.
I was able to get this to work (mostly) in BB. Pulling up the midi devices dialog in BB allows me to highlight only the SK2 output and leave the MSwavetable unhighlighted, and it will play back on both the computer speakers and the SK2 using the sound within the SK2. Both together.
But when I try to make the same settings happen with RealBand the Midi devices dialog is a bit different and when attempting to match the settings in BB, RB will only play on one device or the other, not both at the same time.
I tried every combination of outputs on the mididevices dialog but it ends up leading to an either/or and not a both.
I wonder what's going on here?

In RB you would likely need to copy the track to another blank track, then leave one assigned to the default synth and the other you would use right-click track - Port - then select a different port to send that particular track out to (the SK2 port).
from memory ... I can check it later
most people do not want to hear the cheesy computer sound along with the nice synth sound
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Yes, interesting idea. I'll try that thanks. Just starting to get used to how the connection works with an external keyboard. Thanks.
