2023 Audiophile upgrade from 2022. Windows 11. I am just going through demo songs for new styles. As I load and play the song everything is as usual. When I stop playing the current song and load a new one I get asked to save the song because it has changed, but it has not. I did nothing but play it and then stop it. Is there a setting I need to adjust to have it stop asking me to save when I have made no changes.

I load the songs from the style picker, load demo song. I usually close the style picker to play the song, I know I don't have to, but that is just the way I have always done it.

It is not a fatal flaw. Just annoying.

Long time user since the floppy disk days.

Thanks.

My wife asked if I had seen the dog bowl. I told her I didn't even know he could.

Loading the song demo, and then playing it, causes the selected style to change and forces a generation to take place. My guess is that this generation is probably what triggers the 'song changed' flag.

I believe this behavior started with BiaB 2023(1001), correct? And could this behavior be attributed to the new Autosave feature?

That will just annoy the hell out of me. If they don't make this optional then I won't be upgrading.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

This is definitely the first time this has done this for me, and it is with 2023 only. I did update to newest version yesterday and the problem still persists. Even in 2022 version the songs were "regenerated" but the only thing that triggered the save dialog was a change to the song's chords, or instruments etc., in other words an actual change to the song.

I have no issue with autosave features, but usually they are background processes and don't normally require user input. At least in my experience.

I agree, but it does seem perhaps oddly coincidental.
I would like to know why this new "Requirement to click Yes or No" is necessary... What changes are saved (and where), if I choose "Yes" ?
Why was this extra step never necessary before Vers. 2023..?

I have a couple of projects where all tracks are frozen, so there is nothing to generate. I open one and play it. the asterix pops up in front of the file name. I want to load another frozen song. BIAB asks me if I want to save my changes. Build 1004. We've had this problem since the beginning of BB 2023, was brought to the dev's attention and the issue still exists.

So yeah, WHAT changes are there when I load and play a frozen arrangement?

Cheers,
Mike

This was brought up by me back on 12-5 right after I upgraded. There are quite a few users who are not happy with this change and I certainly hope they get rid of it in a patch. I am getting awful tired of having to click an extra redundant button 10-15 times a day for absolutely no reason at all.

Come on PG Music. Listen to your paid users.
