Just starting to get familiar with BIAB 2023. I see how I can enter any chord variation in the chord window by playing it on my connected midi keyboard and hitting ctrl-shift-enter. I'm trying to do something similar in the editable notation window, playing a note or chord on the keyboard and inserting it at a chosen location, instead of clicking note by note with a mouse. Seems like this would really speed up entry for chords or multiple notes appearing at the same spot. I was hoping to be able to make practice lead sheets for things like 6-2-5-1 turnarounds. Can't seem to find anything in the Help documentation about this. Can this not be done, or am I missing something? Thanks.
If you can play what you wish to have recorded in real time, then you can record a new MIDI track. Here is a tutorial video on how to setup a MIDI keyboard with Band-in-a-Box for Windows, as well as how to make a MIDI recording with it. So you can skip to the second half when it gets to the recording part at 3:17:
Something not covered in the video is that, should you wish, after recording you can quantize the MIDI: set the mixer to tab 'Mixer' then select Edit MIDI->"Quantize, time adjust".
