Hello again folks. I am trying to make some ringetones from some of my songs, but I am not able to merge the tracks . I want to have the tracks in mp3 format, and used the "merge audio and Dxi tracks to compressed file" But it will not work, the program tries to merge the tracks, but then I got a message "this program is not responding" It is a little strange, because it worked on another song some days ago. The ringtone was about 40 seconds long. this one is under 30 seconds. I ripp the songs from one of my cds and load them into PT. There is no other tracks in PT, only the audio file. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? Best regards Tono

Until we can figure out the problem, why not just merge to WAV, then use a different program to convert from WAV to MP3. That way, you're not dead in the water.

Do you have any sugestions to an easy program to do this.
But it would be nice if it could be done in PT. I read that they also have an option to convert to thelephone qality. ( mono track) Maybe the mono format is the best choyse for ringtones?

Well, PT should be able to do this as long as you have an appropriate CODEC installed. I think RHARV has more detailed information about that. There was a recent thread on installing the LAME CODEC into Windows. Or you can just download LAME and convert directly from the command line (if you feel comfortable doing this). If you google "Rip WAV to MP3", you'll find a bunch of free ones. A number of CD burner software, such as Nero, it will do it also. You can also do it from within Audacity (free), but will still need the LAME CODEC.

mono and stereo have both worked here.
If stereo doesn't work, mono should. I think the type of phone will come into play, and you can find that info at the support area for the phone.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

I can not take every type of phone into consideration.
If people want to download the ringtones, the format must be one that works on most of the types.
