Actually, that's not all I care about, but no one seems to want hear that.
I'm trying to figure out how to bring in the chords, melody, etc., from the demo song into BIAB. This is what Henry Clarke is talking about, and it ain't gonna happen from a .wma file.

Click the Load Song Demo button and go back to your chord sheet. The chords and everything else in the demo will be there.

Thanks, JC - I'll give that a try later today. I'm not at my computer at the moment. I really appreciate you taking the time for writing up these instructions! AWESOMENESS!! Mike: Just to be on the safe side, I tested it again with another of my custom styles and it only took me about 2 minutes to load the style, make the chords, export the WMA and test the demo and it works just fine the 2nd time around. You should not have any problem going forward with it. Be sure to the rest of us know if you have a successful rendering of a demo song. Thanks

Bringing me back to where we started. Where are the chords coming from? Probably from PG Music. Why does it matter? Looking at your original post, you never asked that question, btw

The demo songs are created by PG Music. Some of the songs use chord progressions that are recognizable from well-know songs; others are not, or at least we don’t recognize the song. In either case, once PG Music adds their own melody, the songs are protected by copyright in the same way yours would be. There is a FAQ saying this; I’ll try to find it.
I don’t know what Henry Clarke is doing, but if he takes the chord progression and strips out the melody and removes any recognizable hooks in the form of rhythmic hits, then he can add his own melody.

Why does it matter? Because that was the original intent of the question. To start with a template of what the style was intended for. Here is a style, here is a song that is what was intended to create. As Henry Clarke does, take the original intent, alter what you want, and make an original tune.

I think I see what you are looking for so correct me if I am wrong.
You want to make a song you created using a style you created to load into BIAB when you click on "Load Demo Song"
I tried that using the custom styles I created and it did not work and here is the reason why.
Follow me closely everyone.
Clicking on the "Quick Play Using Premade Demo" looks for a small WMA file to sample for you and that is a WMA file located in c:\bb\Realtracks\Data\Style Demos Audio\
It is just an audio file so it will not load into BIAB with chords. Nothing more then that and is designed to just play a sample of what the style sounds like.
Clicking on "Load Song Demo" is going to load a SGU file that has to be located in C:\bb\demos\realtrack-demos\ and that SGU file will load with chords since it is really nothing more then a SGU file that happens to be in c:\bb\demos\realtrack-demos\.
I took my sgu file that was named Mystyle.sgu, which I keep in my own location with the rest of my sgu files, and copied it to c:\bb\demos\realtrack-demos\ and now when I chose Mystyle.sty and click on "Load Song Demo" it brings it into BIAB just like all the other styles provided by PGMusic operate.
Evidently you can open a SGU file from any directory but you can only "Load Song Demo" to go along with the style from C:\bb\demos\realtrack-demos\ for it to open.

Exactly. That's my experience as well. Playing your OWN demo as a preview is escaping me as well. Loading your own style demo works just fine.

Jim:
I am going to retype it up tomorrow for both the Create A Demo Song and the Load Demo Song and post it in the tips and tricks forum. Too late tonight to do it. I am burned out. I want to do it in a easy to follow format.
Thanks

I just posted a cleaned up version of the step-by-step instructions on how to make a Demo song that will play a sample for your custom-made user style using "Quick Play" and how to create a song that will load into BIAB using "Load Song Demo" in Style Picker.
It is posted in the Tips and Tricks forum. If anything needs corrected, please reply in the post over in the Tips and Tricks forum.
Thanks.

Here are my Step by Step instructions. They are also over in the Post Your Own Tips & Tricks section of the forum but it looks like not to many people venture over into that area for some reason.
Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to make a Demo song that will play a sample for your custom-made user style using Quick Play and how to create a song that will load into BIAB using Load Song Demo
1. Create and save your custom-made style. In this case, as an example and for these instructions, I will use the name Mystyle. The file will have the name Mystyle.sty and will be located in the default directory of C:\bb\styles. It will show up when you rebuild ALL styles. It has to be ALL styles because you created it and you gave it a name that is not in the default BIAB style listing from PGMUSIC.
2. Make a song in BIAB using your new custom style called Mystyle.sgu
3. Generate the song and make sure it plays OK to your satisfaction
4. Perform this next step to save the song as a WMA file.
File-Save Special-Export as .wma
The name of the song HAS to have the same name as your custom-made user style. Remember in this example, I named the song Mystyle.sgu so the exported WMA file has to have the name Mystyle.wma
5. Make sure you save the WMA file in c:\bb\Realtracks\Data\Style Demos Audio. It must have the same name as the name of your custom-made style.
6. At this point you should have your custom-made style located in C:\bb\Styles and you have rebuilt the style list using ALL styles. You should also have the WMA file located in c:\bb\Realtracks\Data\Style Demos Audio and it MUST have the same name as your custom-made style. In this case the style was named Mystyle.sty and the WMA file was named Mystyle.wma
7. Now the demo song you made up should play when you click on “Quick Play Using Premade Demo” in the Style Picker menu.
To be able to “Load A Demo Song” from the Style Picker menu, you will need to do the following step 8 after you have done step 7.
8. Copy your SGU song file to the following directory:
C:\bb\demos\realtrack-demos
IMPORTANT STEP! At this point you have to rename the song you want BIAB to load in using the “Load A Demo Song” function so that the name starts with the style name.
For example, if I have a song using the Mystyle style I created and I named the song “Joe’s Blues in E”, BIAB will not load it using “Load A Demo Song” because it has to be renamed “Mystyle Demo – Joe’s Blues in E” for it to work right.
Evidently BIAB will look for an associated song file that starts with the Style Name. If you look at all the examples in C:\bb\demos\realtrack-demos\ you will see their naming examples.
That is where BIAB will look for a song using the custom-made style to load. Since it is an actual song file, everything will load including the chords. In this example I took my song file called “Joe’s Blues in E.sgu” and COPIED it to the aforementioned directory. I then renamed it from “Joe’s Blues in E.sgu” to “Mystyle Demo – Joe’s Blues in E.sgu”. Now when I click on "Load Song Demo" it brings it into BIAB just like all the other styles provided by BIAB operate.
Remember, you can open a SGU file from any directory on your computer, but you can only perform a "Load Song Demo" to go along with the style from C:\bb\demos\realtrack-demos\ in order for it to work since that is where BIAB expects It to be and it has to be named properly.
This is quite a lot of information to process so if you see any mistakes, let me know so I can edit the post if necessary.

Remember to not include the count-in in the wma, if you just want a small demo you can highlight so many bars then drag the Master track to WMA.
