Bonjour tout le monde! :-))

amicalement

From many years of poorly understanding French, I think this is a question about purchasing BIAB, downloading the installer, and not receiving the full program. I think the question also asks if there is a better way to contact PG Music. From other posts by this user, this topic is about a Windows computer but this user is very experienced with BIAB on the Mac.

You can contact Support in one of several ways:

Try the Live Chat, which is that blue bubble on the lower right of your screen (if they are waiting online).

Or click on The Support column header, in the third row down on your screen, the blue row.

There is also a French language forum for BIAB, here: https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=15&page=1

Google Translate gives:

Hello everybody! :-))

delighted to be back here, where the knowledge that eludes me seems obvious to everyone!

two questions lead me. The last two, I promise! Here are the facts:

To get Band-in-a-Box, I went to http://www.ipemusic.com/pgmusic. I probably shouldn't have...one of two things:
or else I've become dumber than a turkey who finds a table of logarithms and doesn't know what to do with it,
or else there is really a problem of "procedures" with certain programs...

Indeed, I found myself forced to download an unnameable book named "bandinabox_download_manager_setup_1.0.66",
62.4 MB in size, and I give you my word that I was left with no choice: the page offered no other options!

So I douneloud the widget, opened the widget, installed the widget, and then...failed the widget.
By that I mean there was nothing to understand what I was supposed to do...everything was either incomprehensible or impossible! crazy
So I uninstalled the manu énervari gizmo, and went out grumbling in the street, pulling a hepathic undertaker's face. It relieves, instantly.
Therefore, with the exception of the thingy itself, (which I still have, but in installer form, as if I had never opened it)
nothing of this misadventure remains on my computer for the moment.

What remains, however, is the fact that I did indeed pay €129 for a program that I still don't have, and the feeling of having been smothered...

Race result, stuck as a percentage in a tax return, I see myself led, of two things one:
-or to have my €129 reimbursed and give up Band-in-a-Box, but frankly, I would find that infuriating!
-or to come back here to address those who know, or have had a similar experience that their HP authorizes them to tell, and who will perhaps tell me what happened!

Hence the two questions that lead me:

A) Are the emm... I had normal? In other words, is there an address, elsewhere, where the route would be less labyrinthine? Where would I just buy an installer, and basta?
B) In case this dismal fiasco is due to an error on my part, which means starting all over again from the beginning (why not, after all...?), does anyone know how to go about it?
After all, maybe I just need my brain to do an update, just to stick a little more to the new procedures and the philosophy behind them?

Anecdote:
before downloading the gadget in question, I was able to read a short text, on the page, which explained that this program is intended to make the installation procedure "simpler than the old manual method..."
And suddenly, I think of Guitry, who said about roundabouts for automobiles:
"all this is very complicated, like everything that is intended to simplify life!"

And There you go! You know everything about where I'm at, which isn't complicated since I'm actually treading water! :-D

it only remains for me to thank you first for your patience and then for your answers, and to wish you the best possible week!

friendly

Alceste

Thanks for translation, who knew the French were so witty and perceptive. I studied German in school. If only I would have known.

Bonjour Alceste,

-------------
You don't need to use the Install Manager if you don't want to. Find your download URL in your order confirmation email. Click on this link or copy and paste it into your browser.

On your download page, you can click the checkbox "Montrer les éléments téléchargeables pour ce produit" and you can download all the files individually.

(see image)

Alternatively, if you wish to use the Install Manager, open it and click the "URL de téléchargement" button. Now, paste in the link to your download page and press "OK". Note if you need to change the language to FR, this can be done by going to the menu "Edit | Language Selection".

Hello AudioTrack!

please, if you think you can help me, feel free to do it in english,

this is not a problem for me!

I read English better than I speak it, and therefore I'm certain I could understand!

To be fully honest, when I read the english translation Google does with my french writing, I think I could

write directly in English!

Thank you anyway ;-)

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
