You may of installed the VST in a different location than 5.0.0 Check the file date in the folders on the VST3, the VST2 will show the version when you hover over it.
Hi, I have the same problem, the DAW plugin will not load any Styles. I have the latest updated versions of BIAB 2023 & Cakewalk (updated them today), running on Windows 10. I have checked all the file paths/locations and deleted both BIAB VST2 and VST3 then reinstalled them to no avail. Initially I just installed VST3 when that wouldn't work I tried VST2. The plugin works normally until you try to select a style in the style picker and nothing happens (it won't load the style you've picked)
Do you get the blue flower overlay and not the style picker. Or does nothing change when you click the style name to open the Style Picker. Do you have bbw4_64.exe running in task manager.
When you installed the VST2 plugin the default location is: C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins.
There is also another VST2 plugin screen that offers additional locations for specific DAWs including Cakewalk by Bandlab.
I use Cakewalk by Bandlab and the VST3 plugin does not work correctly for me. I have Cakewalk by Bandlab preferences set so that if I have a VST3 plugin the corresponding VST2 equivalent does not display in the plugin browser. I uninstalled the VST3 plugin and the VST2 plugin that is installed in Cakewalk's default plugin location displays in the browser.
The VST2 plugin works for me in Cakewalk. You can also use the standalone plugin located at C:\bb\BBPlugin\Files\Band-in-a-Box DAW Plugin Standalone and use drag and drop to move midi or audio files from the standalone plugin to a Cakewalk by Bandlab audio or midi track.
Finally both midi and audio tracks are saved in a time dated folder at C:\bb\BBPlugin\SavedTracks
Daw plugins works now but says 5.0.0 Why did it not upgrade ?
@Jake1962, did you get the problem sorted? The VST3 version of the plugin should be installed/updated by default unless you specifically uncheck it during installation. The VST3 folder is "standardized" unlike VST2 folder. It is C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
You should see this folder listed in the Cakewalk Preferences | VST Settings.
You should uncheck the other plugin options during installation (all except the VST3) unless you have a specific need for them (for example, if your DAW doesn't support VST3). Open the VST3 plugin in Cakewalk and verify that the version is the 5.0.9.
