Can someone please help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? I have connected a Yamaha M06 Synth to my computer via MIDI. I can get RealBand to record and play back a single midi track (sending the midi back to the synth so I use it's sounds), but I cannot get any data back to the synth from BIAB. I hear nothing, and yet I can see the notes playing on the screen.
I REALLY would appreciate anyone's help with this!
Thanks,
Charles

Options- Preferences-MIDI driver setup. Uncheck the 'Use VST DXi synth' box. Select the yamaha in the output list.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

Just in case anyone else has this problem with a M06/M08 synth, here are the pieces I was missing.
First, you need to go under UTILITIES > MIDI on the synth and set the Midi to USB
Second, change the option just below it to the MIDI thru channel you have set in BIAB.
Third, make sure you check the port your synth is set to. If you use any other USB devices on your comp, then count them up and set the port on the M0 based synth to at least one higher than that number.
Fourth, go into the MIDI driver setup in BIAB and select the first M0 based synth you see on both the output and the input.
Last, to get the drum tracks to work on the M0, remember to set the Bank 0 setting to 127 for the standard drum kit that is on the synth. Using the LSB setting, you can change kits.
Thanks rharv for trying to help, but most of the issue was setting the synth up. I had already disabled the VST settings.
I'm new to MIDI over USB, and obviously new to the M06. It took three days to get this to work with BIAB, but the sounds are really beautiful on this synth.
When I went shopping for this, I specifically asked to hear the strings, the piccolo, the flute, the six and twelve string guitars, and the acoustic piano. Fell in love with the sounds.
It's not a four thousand dollar synth, but it meets my needs. Has the same sound set as the Motif ES.
Thanks,
Charles
PS. I forgot to mention that in order to hear more than one instrument, you must hit the song mode button on the panel. Just FYI.
