The normalize velocities doesn't make all the velocities the same (so as to preserve the dynamic range of your song), but it does center the velocities around the specified value. I've used it a lot and it works great, especially in a song set, to avoid changing volume settings with each song. I've found the PGMusic styles generally use a lower note velocity setting than the Norton Styles do. So without it, a song using a Norton Style would be suddenly louder than the one with a PGMusic style.

This feature was actually in response to a wishlist request I made many years ago. PGMusic may not implement all the requests, but they do listen to their users. I've had many wishes granted over time.
