I’ve been remastering some of the old songs I wrote and recorded in the ‘80’s. They were recorded on a Tascam 4 track cassette, and there was a lot of combining or “bouncing” of tracks in order to come up with songs that had from 6 to 10 tracks on them.

This is one of those old songs.

This is a slow pop/country romantic tune using a Martin acoustic, a Fender Stratocaster played thru a Roland JC-120 amp with a generous amount of chorus, and a Fender Precision bass.

If you’ve got 3 min and 49 secs to spare:

I really enjoyed this one! To me it has a very cool Jackson Browne/Eagles vibe to it - very nice!

Bob,

I'm enjoying this very much! The vocal is especially nice... beautiful vibrato. When the solo's kick in I almost feel like I'm hearing myself from the 80's. Good Stuff!

Very Nice song. You truly captured that 80's sound. Great vocal!

Good job, Bob. Is that a tambourine coming in at odd places or clicks from the Strat on the bridge pickup; that was my only problem with it. Loved everything else.

Thanks to all for the comments and compliments. This is a little different from the styles I usually write in.

Thanks Frankie. You caused me to learn a new term. Middle 8. I usually have a chorus or bridge to break up a song, but occasionally I write songs that use this format. This is one I’d like to record again, so I might experiment with it if I do. As far as true blue country, can’t help but be what I am. LOL.

Harvey, No tambourine, so it much be clicks from the Strat. Your ears are better than mine, plus I’ve recently developed tinnitus. Sucks big time. It definitely makes it harder to pick out certain frequencies. Glad you like the song.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to listen.

Hi Bob,

Good job! I enjoyed this song. Does bring back some good memories of some of the 80's acoustical stuff. To me it has a little bit of a Neil Young sound to it (but I think your voice sounds better than his )

Hi Bob,Didnt realise that the "bridge"over the pond is the "middle 8"over here.I just wish you could set up a little recording studio again because you have talent and I feel its being wasted without it.If I win the lottery I will set you up thats a promise lol Frankie
