For awhile, I had struggled trying to eliminate or work around the generated two-bar ending. Then I came across the tag ending. Sweet! It lets me end the song the way I want to. One example is a song where I wanted the last bar of the chorus to also be the last bar of the song. I didn't want the two extra bars. I actually put my tag inside the chorus.
Of course, you can always unfold your song into one big chorus. But that has its own downsides, sometimes.
