CloClo, I used a netbook for the same reason you want to, and it's great for travel.

The other posters are correct: use headphones.

The hard drive speed does make a difference, though relatively small, between 5400 rpm versus 7200. I have use of two similar laptops and this is a clear performance difference between them in any program. However, during testing of RealTracks in earlier versions of BIAB, it made much more of a difference than it does now with version 2011. I can explain that statement if needed. Now, the processor speed is probably more important than the hard drive speed.

The laptops I have used for the past decade have all been Toshiba, with great results EXCEPT the netbook, a 205 model that was OK for BIAB but just died (motherboard) after 18 months. [Best Buy wanted $550 to repair a computer that cost $400.] The small screen size was bothersome for the chordsheet, and more than two RealTracks bogged it down. I replaced the netbook with a 14" I5 laptop and I'm a lot happier now.
