Under MIDI devices make sure you have your soundcard selected for MIDI out if that is where you want the sound to come from.
If using DXi synth, you may want to switch to ASIO (in audio prefs) to remove the latency.
If you are wanting to hear the contoller, you need an audio cable connected from keyboard to line in of soundcard
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
