I'm trying out a new Laptop, have a few days left to make a final decision,
and have hit the wall with my own research and testing. (Have read through
tons of great posts on this Forum, but now on overwhelm!)

Hoping someone who has experience using a similar setup can help.

First, I have BIAB 2011 ULTRA-PAK. (On external USB HD.)
(I'll primarily be using the Real Tracks & Real Drums.)

Haven't been able to test it with an AUDIO INTERFACE yet, but plan to record
vocals & acoustic guitar into the laptop using an M-Audio Fasttrack Pro.
(Probably this interface - considering options.)

Will then do track work with REALBAND, MULTI-TRACK STUDIO, or maybe REAPER.

These are the LAPTOP SPECS:

PROCESSOR: 2.1GHz AMD Athlon II Dual-Core Processor P320 (Champlain architecture)

MEMORY: 3GB (Max to 8GB) DDR3 (2 DIMM) (Integrated dual channel. 533 MHz DDR3 SDRAM memory
controller and a 1600MHz 16 bits HyperTransport link.)

FRONT SIDE BUS: 3200MHz.

CACHE: 1MB L2 Cache (The first level size is 2x64KB for the instruction cache and 2x64KB for data cache,
and the second level size is 2x512KB for each of its two cores)

HARD DRIVE: Western Digital 320GB (7200RPM)

USB 2.0 X 3

POWER CONSUMPTION: 25 Watts of power

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

(A couple review notes I found on the processor: "Despite having two cores, the Athlon will not allow users to run more than three applications at the same time." (??) "Uses Virtualization technology, giving users the possibility of having several operating systems in the processor without experiencing a sluggish performance.")

So ... see any problems??

Thanks for your insights!
