Thanks guys, re feeling Glenn, there was a big discussion going on on an accordion forum recently re grace notes. In my humble opinion this is something you can't really be taught. I suppose you can to a certain degree, BUT, you need to play from the heart to be able to use grace notes properly & to some extent tremelo which I use a lot on slow tunes. It's just a simple exercise really. Shaking the left hand very gently gives the desired effect.
All too often you can hear technically astonishing players rattle off notes at a speed likened to that of mach 6. If there's no feeling put into what they play, it sounds flat.
That's what I try & do more & more these days. In my younger & more stupid days I was guilty of trying to show off and it worked from time to time but I learnt the hard way it's not what the general public appreciate
