HP laptops do not have a very good reliability record (according to PC World). In fact, they are near the bottom of the list. So make sure you get a good guarantee with it.
Macs and ThinkPads consistently get to the top of the list in reliability, and if my ThinkPads are any example, they are worth the rating.

Before the purchase I talked to a tech guy I worked with in a computer store who is in the pc repair business now and he felt they were good quality laptops. But I got the two year warranty for the price of a battery it's battery
