Thanks for the video!

Yes, that behaviour is normal, and is due to the "Tempo Substitution" feature.

When you select a Piano track like the Jazz Ballad (tempo 60) ballad, but then you play the file at a higher tempo (like 180), then BB automatically substitutes a better RealTrack, like the 190 one. Because a ballad part sped up from 60 to 180 would sound worse than a 190 one slowed down to 180.

You can tell if these substitutions are going to happen, when the ReaTracks has a tilde ~ mark at the beginning of the name. When you see two tildes ~~ , it means that the RT is in fact substituted. To see that in action, try slowing the tempo of the song down to 60 (when it is not playing, and notice how the RT's change).

This feature is based on the idea that musicians play differently at different tempos, and that, for example, you wouldn't want a piano ballad style of piano at a bebop tempo.

THe nice thing on this feature is that it means that you could use the same style at all kinds of tempos, since the RT will get substituted. For example, you can change from a tempo of 60 to one at a tempo of 190, just change the tempo and press play again.

As mentioned by Rachael, you can turn this feature off, on a song-by-song basis (Edit Song Settings), or completely off for all songs (Prefs-RealTracks-Auto Tempo Substitutions)
