I keep putting in a repeat via Repeats/Codas/1st-2nd Endings. No matter what I do, it always repeats from bar 1. I want it to repeat from bar 17. How do I do this?

Checking out the tutorials on Repeats gets you to second base.

Yes. I did review this. It is really long winded but I do realize to set the type of Ending to Repeat radio button. I set Repeat begins at bar 17, number of bars in a single repeat is 46, number of repeats I set to 3. I press OK- Make Repeat. Next I reopen the repeats/codas box. It has changed back to 1st/2nd endings and Repeats begins at bar 1.

That's just the default display. Click on "Edit List ..." and you'll see your saved changes.

OK. Did that and deleted the 5 additional times I tried getting this repeat to occur from bar 17. It still, however, repeats from bar 1. I don't even want to know why it always shows the default even after you have changed it. There must be some logic there somewhere.

Welcome to the forum. You may be getting confused by the multiple "chorus" markings. A BB "chorus" is one time through the whole song (excluding intro & ending). Some reading up should help.

Meantime, try this: set the chorus (button just to left of lowest tool bar) to 1 and make sure the basic layout has sufficient bars to accommodate the structure you want. Go back into the repeats menu and set it the way you want, making sure the "generate new bars" option is enabled. Now you can add back in multiple "choruses" if you want the whole shebang to repeat. Does that help?

Ron, I feel like an idiot. I can't find the chorus button. Is there some way to minimize the number of options that are available on the screen? Someting like a "basic mode" and an "advanced mode"? I realize the huge amount of work that must have gone into this thing, but the UI is one of the most confusing I have ever seen. I'd like to turn off all of the buttons and toolbars and icons and do everything from the regular pulldown menus (windows style). At least then I could follow directions.

Never mind. I got it. I set the begining of the chorus on those three numeric boxes under loop and fake to 17 46 3. All I have to say is WOW.

Now you've defined a chorus starting from bar 17. That's different from a Repeat in BB speak. No sweat - with time you'll get the hang of all those BB specific terms.

Have fun

Are there any classes given on how to use BIAB? Live or on DVD?

Use the little triangles at the far right to delete the buttons you don't need. Later, Ray
