Hi - getting my new computer tuned in and am trying now to get BIAB to play the TTS-1 software synth. I understand from other posts here that TTS will work with W7/64, and it works with my Sonar X1 64bit.
I had TTS working with BIAB 2011 with my previous XP system.
So, now I'm in the BIAB midi and audio plug area and see no acknowledgment of TTS. I'm not sure if BIAB automatically scans for them, or if I need to direct BIAB to the .dll, or ???. The Help for this seems to indicate that I just use the pull down to select the synth, but it ain't there. No help in the FAQ. Can anyone clue me in on how to get BIAB to recognize TTS-1
Thanks

I was unable to run TTS-1 in BB while I had Sonar 64bit installed. It works fine after I re-installed Sonar as 32 bit. Since I don't use Sonar much, I really don't care much, but you might, so I suggest you confirm this observation with others.... I may have been doin' something wrong...wouldn't be the first time. Good Luck,

Sonar x64 doesn't do DX stuff. I installed both 64 & 32 Sonar & now have all the DX stuff.

Hi,
Band-in-a-Box is a 32-bit program. You might have the 64-bit version of the TTS-1 installed. 64-bit DX plugins only work with 64-bit programs. Maybe you can install both versions at the same time - let us know what you find.

When you say "now have all the DX stuff" do you mean you have all the DX stuff in BIAB, or ???. And if you have both Sonar (X1???) 64 and 32 installed, do you use just the 64 and the 32 is installed only to allow BIAB or see the DXi apps?

Yes you have to install the 32 bit version of Sonar so that the DX effects & DXis show.I have 2 computers so I use the 64 on the win7x64 and I of course use the 32 on XP. On the Win7 machine I also installed the 32 bit version for all the plugs to be available to BIAB & RB. BTW Sonar 8.5

Thank Andrew and Silvertones. Andrew - I have the TTS-1 from previous Sonar (32bit) on my old computer. The .dll file sizes are slightly different than that for Sonar X1 (64 bit). I transferred the 32 bit TTS-1 folder to a new folder (I named Shared DXi 32Bit) located where the Sonar X1 "Shared DXi" folder is located - with my fingers crossed - but BIAB still doesn't recognize it. I'm thinking I have to install it or something. Can you clue me to the next step?
Thanks.

If your Sonar X1 is like Sonar 8.5 all you do is insert the Install disc. it then gives you at some point the option to install either 32 bit or 64 bit. You've already installed 64 bit so insert the disc again and select 32 bit this time. you'll end up with two versions.64 & 32. Perfectly normal to do this.

Thanks to the ideas of Andrew and Silvertones I got just what I wanted - TTS-1 working in my 64bit W7 in BIAB - without installing Sonar 32 bit in addition to my current Sonar 64 bit.
Using the Sonar installation disk I selected 32 bit and then selected "custom" installation, then deselected ALL, EXCEPT TTS-1 and proceeded with the install. When done I opened BIAB, got to the Instruments page and there it was. Works fine, as does TTS in my 64 bit Sonar.

This way is fine of course however you miss out on the ability to use all of the Cakewalk DX effects in BIAB or any other DAW.

Yes John (sorry, now I see your name is John) - I was going to mention that I can go back now and install all nthose by the same process. Another day.
Let me get your opinion on something. While I have no desire to have a 32 bit X1 on my 64 bit system, I've been thinking of installing the 32 bit 8.5, just to go back and see how it was in the good old days. Doing that I would also get all those other CW DX available to BIAB as you mentioned.
So - any downside to installing 8.5 32 in addition to X1 64? I had 8.5 and X1, both 32 bit, on my old computer - worked fine. Guess I'm just worried about causing some conflicts (???) that I may regret. This isn't real important to me.

Many thanks Kelso. I have been trying to load TTS-1 for several months. I used the Sonar 8.5 disc, followed your directions and it worked. I have been using Roland Hyper Canvas and now I have a backup. I haven't tried Sonar yet but I assume that it should work as usual. Dave

I used to run Sonar 4 along side Sonar 8.5 without issues.I don't know about X1.If you do that and decide to get rid of one or the other be careful about removing any shared files.

SONAR X1 is just like the earlier versions in that it goes completely into its own folder. There were a few reports of people losing functions in 8.5 after installing X1 and then uninstalling it, but I'm not sure those problems were definitively linked to X1. The X1b patch is due within about a month.
