Well, it depends on what style you`re using. In jazz this is the way its supposed to be. In a jazzband the pianist will interpret chords differntly from a guitarist. The chord you play also depends on where your fingers are at that moment.

It makes no sense to play exactly the written tension, lets say C13, when C9 is nearer on the fretboard. You need to think about a good voice leaing too! Playing exactly the given chords usually leads into a bad voice leading (top notes jumping around from high to low notes etc).

I love the way BIAB interprets the jazzchords. It comes close to having a real player. Its good for me and good for my students. I wouldn`t change it.
If you want things exactly the way written you need to use Midi.
