That's a feature of the latest version. Contact PG support with your question. Which version? Latest build? What O/S? Did you buy this from that guy on the corner of ...with the big overcoat?
Have you ever heard of comedy? It has errors in it. I'm one of them. My warranty ran out.

The answer, in short, is yes, this is a feature. (of the latest version).
AND (drum roll) (eye roll) there are work arounds. Some very easy ones.
A low voice now, hushed...(there exists a secret society of Band in a Box users who know the keys to all questions...), but you have to do something involving a partridge and an apparent tree. During Hogmanny. (Background Ohhhhhhhhhh's, patch xxy {secret} in Midi version XIIM.) Not to worry.
