Sorry to post so much in the last couple days, but all my ideas come at once!

Already discussed a little in the post about classical real tracks, which would be nice.

Besides for classical though, it would be nice to have real tracks of string sections to use for pop backgrounds, etc.

I'm not very familiar with all the current RealTracks yet, but it looks to me like the only bowed string involvement, is a few solo fiddle players in some bluegrass styles.

(Of course, there are many RealTracks with plucked strings--guitars, basses, etc., but that's not what I mean here.)

It would be REALLY nice to have real tracks of large string sections playing lush chords.

IMO, strings are one of the hardest instruments to emulate via MIDI. I have GPO, others have more expensive string libraries--EWQLSO, VSL, etc., but no matter how great these sample libraries are, the sound of actual string playing is very hard to emulate through MIDI. Some people can do it better than others with a keyboard, use of the mod wheel, etc. (I'm not one of those who are good at it), but it would sure be nice to have something like RealTracks playing string backgrounds.

I guess that could be part of the classical real tracks someone suggested, and one could take the string parts so generated, and put it together with other parts generated by other styles. Or, it could be something separate, for pop and jazz string backgrounds.

So---when will we see Real Strings?
