The least expensive near field monitors ($150) I could find that appears to be ok is the
M-Audio Studiophile AV 40

I use the earlier version Studiophile SP-5B and they are pretty good.

If you have to stay around $100 then your best bet may be some better headphones. Maybe something like this

I have no experience in headphones in this price range however I’m sure someone here has and may suggest a better set.
