This is a new song I wrote around the first of this year. It was developed in BIAB and recorded in RB using RTs: Guitars 406, 522; Bass 519; Drums BossaRock; cowboy soloist; then mixed in Tracktion. The harmonies are a combo of real and harmonizer.

It's A Sweet Thing

Josie,

SWEET!

Good song, good vocals, good mix! I liked how you dropped the band out and just had guitar & vocals, then brought everything back in to the end. I assume it must be the harmonizer doing the guy harmony below you, that's working well & sounds very cool.

The drums are a little weak for me... But that's probably just me as I tend to like them more in your face, and I guess that's really not appropriate for this song.

Nice Job Girl!

Brian,
What you said is music to my ears, that's always the goal - get people to want to sing along. Thank you!

Dave,
Thank you so much!

Frankie,
Thank you! The harmonizer is a fun toy and I like trying different things with it but combining it with the real thing always makes it sound more real.

Greg,
Thank you very much! That low male voice is really my brother. Just kidding.

Hi Occ,
Born and raised. I have to watch it - I was really glad I didn't sing "thang" LOL. Thank you for the kind words - you make me feel good.

Hi Bob,
Thank you! I appreciate it.

Hi Marty,
I wish I was one of these people who can knock out a great arrangement really fast but it usually takes me a while of trial and error. Thank you!

Hi Peter,

Hi Josie,

Wow! Acutally, make that double "Wow". This is really good. You've really mastered mixing in Tracktion. The singing, the arrangement, the writing, the mixing ... all top shelf in my opinion. I'm going back for another listen now.

All the best,
Noel

This is a sweet love song! I love this track. Lyrics are great Josie. Vocals are very well done. You have a great voice Joise. The change up to acoustic is perfectly done. You have certainly mastered biab and RT's. You have them working for you really well now. This is also a great mix of styles too. I think the bassa drums really give a nice sway to this track. They fit right in. Very creative there. Home run with this one!

A+

Noel,
Thank you so much. Like the old saying goes, I ain't where I wanna be yet mixing wise but I'm better than I used to be - I think learning mixing is like learning a new instrument - takes lots of practice and with each new song there's always more to learn.

Dan,
Thank you so much. It's one of my favorite songs I've written. I'm so glad you like it too!

Powderman,

Hi Josie,

Very nice! And yes, your mixing abilities are getting better all the time. That's the great thing about all aspects of music. It is so dynamic. Always room for improvement, and always room for more enjoyment! None of us have arrived - but at least we have left!

Good job!

Josie, you title is spot on as this song “It’s a Sweet Thing”.

Outstanding mix, RT selection and of course your excellent singing.

This is a keeper for sure.

You sure can write, sing and produce them Ms Josie. This is another excellent example of how the PG Software sounds. I am still waiting for my songwriting ability to wake up, lol.

Loved it.
