My soundcard is non-functional. It has a driver/hardware problem.
I went out and bought the Edirol UA 25-EX to act as my soundcard.
But the strange thing that I never figured out, is that even with my USB UA 25-EX not plugged in most of the time, I still hear sound!!!
I don't know how it's possible, but that's the way it is.

BiabGuy, how can you be asking a pretty complex Biab question when you have an obvious driver/hardware problem with your computer? Please tell us the specific details of your system, CPU, Ram, HD size, O/S, all that stuff. We have to get your audio problems fixed before we can begin with your question. The fact you say "even with my UA 25-EX not plugged in, I still hear sound!!!" tells me with all due respect, you know next to nothing about digital audio and PC's. All you do is look at where your speakers are plugged in. If they're plugged into the audio output of your computer either at the back from the motherboard or from the front of your case, then the sound is coming from your computer, right?

It would be a good idea for you to learn some basics about using a PC for digital audio work. That will help you with complex audio programs like Biab or RB. A good place to go is Mac's website www.audiominds.com Click on the "Getting Started" tab in the upper left.
