I know this thread has been discussed a LOT, but I've yet to read a viable/simple solution to a problem that, given the sophistication of BIAB, should not be one...
Using the JAZCOOL style on 2 songs - I set ALL instruments to EXACTLY the same volume/type...
But on playback, there is quite a difference in the bass and guitar volumes between the 2 songs...??
This is a BIG problem on gigs - with me reaching for the mixer once a song begins (too loud/soft)...
I use MP3Gain to 'normalize' the volumes on all the songs, but still, the volume differs greatly from song to song... am I 'missing' something here??

It sounds like some Song Setting got changed on one of the songe. Check you Overrides in the Song Setting dialog.
If you are using just Midi tracks, you can try Opt|Preferences|Arrange 'Normalize Midi velocities...' Typically, this is useful with different styles. Yours sounds like the settings I mentioned.

Hi dmrodes,
When I read your post, it made me wonder if the instruments were same in both songs. As Rachael has suggested, it's most likely that some unseen setting is different between the two songs.
To see if the instruments are the same, click on the instrument track (Bass, Guitar, etc) and see what instruments show up as active just below the tracks.

This is a BIG reason I burn my songs to cd/mp3 before going live somewhere. No surprises with how they play or sound.

If the Song Settings are fine, this could be an MP3Gain issue...
MP3Gain has several options for applying gain and could cause the volume differences depending on its analysis of the track. I only use MP3Gain to boost my tracks by a constant rather than letting the analysis take over. I found that some peak RD shots can alter the analysis and lead to unwanted volume differences between songs.
Check you BIAB Render settings - turning off Normalize and any Gain. Then listen to the WAVs and see if the differences are still there. You could then use MP3Gain to perform an Analysis only to see what the volumes are.

A little confused. You never mention that you render the tracks to an MP3 however you mention this MP3 gain. What is it? Where is it? Do you render and then just use the rendered part on the audio track?

I have to adjust each Biab track here as well, whether midi or RT being used. Some midi patches are simply louder then others. Probably due to the polyphony being used at the time is my guess?
The RT's will be the same way due to original db level when recorded. Nature of the beast. I experience the same thing here.
