Were you using the A2ZSNB card in a PCMCIA slot? If so and the problem is that the Sony only has an express slot there is an adapter that works perfectly.Just plug the card into the adapter & plug the adapter into the Sony express slot.
As far as the setup you are using it should work but the settings are sort of different from XP to Vista. Go into the control panel & find the sound icon and take a look around at the settings. Yes the probably is only a mono mic input.
