I did it in reverse, never uninstalled SE while I did remove Norton, then installed Avast.
Sorry.
You could always 'disable' AVG while installing SE. It would only add a few minutes to the process and remove any doubt. Either through the program interface or using task manager to disable all functions...
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
